Nidan waterfall is located in the Bhaisna village of Jabalpur. Travellers can take a car, taxi, or bus to cover the 30 km distance from the main Jabalpur city to this eye-pleasing site.

Best time to visit

While the waterfall is open for travellers all around the year, the time after the monsoon, i.e. July to September is considered favourable. The flow and depth of the water during these months are just apt for travellers to explore its beauty in the full wilderness.

Dhuandhar Falls

Yet another cooling and the crowning glory of waterfalls in Jabalpur is the Dhuandhar Fall. Originally known as the Smoke Cascade, the Dhuandhar Waterfall in Jabalpur attracts travellers with its astonishing marble mountains standing at a height of 30m on the holy Narmada River. The water here makes its way through the rocky marble mountains and forcefully plunges, creating a mass of mist that justifies its name ‘Dhuandhar’. The best time to visit Dhuandhar fall is during Sharad Purnima when the people of Jabalpur celebrate the Narmada festival. Additionally, the spectacular sight of the full moonlight falling on the marble formations make your visit worthwhile.

Ghughra Fall

Ghughra fall is among the famous waterfalls in Jabalpur, located on the banks of river Narmada. It is among the best places to visit in Jabalpur along with the Dhuandhar falls. The lush green scenic view and crystal clear water falling from a height of 15m offer a serene atmosphere to sit and enjoy with family and friends. The shape of the fall is slightly arched towards the inside as the water congregates towards the centre while plunging. This makes the flow appear a little fierce yet beautiful.

Ghughra Waterfall in Jabalpur is located at a distance of 27 km from the main city centre. It can be reached by car, taxi, or local bus service.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Ghughra Waterfall in Jabalpur is between July and September. Avoid visiting during the monsoon season as the water gets muddy, and the nearby area transforms into a wetland.

Bhadbhada Fall

The Bhadbhada waterfall in Jabalpur is located on the banks of the Gour River, which is a tributary to the holy Narmada River. While the site is all picturesque and serene like other waterfalls in Jabalpur, what makes it a talk of the town is the similarity to Niagara falls, however much smaller in size. Another distinct feature of this fall that creates a charm among travellers is that it forms only during the rainy season. People gather here just after the monsoon season ends to soother their eyes with its mesmerizing beauty.

The tranquil Bhadbhada Waterfall in Jabalpur is located at a distance of 17.4 km from the main city centre. It can be easily reached by car, bus, or taxi.

Best time to visit

Since the waterfall forms during the monsoon season, it is the only time to visit and witness its charming environment.

 Khandari Fall

The Khandari waterfall is situated on the Khandari lake in the Dumna Nature Reserve Park of Jabalpur. Besides the waterfall and serene surroundings that contribute to tourism, the lake is also a major source of water for the people of Jabalpur. Set amidst a dense forest with a variety of wildlife, the visitors get an opportunity to take a stroll and spot various animals like wild boar, chital, jackals, along with different bird species. Additionally, they can also be a part of various activities that take place in the park for an additional fee.

Location

The Khandari Waterfall in Jabalpur is located at a distance of 12 km from the main city centre. It can be easily reached by car, bus, or taxi.

Best time to visit

The place is open for visitors on all seven days of the week from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. The entry fee is Rs.20 per person.

The best time to visit and celebrate the beauty of this tranquil spot is during November and April when both the water and wildlife are in their full force. If lucky, you can also get to spot their little ones strolling and chirping around.

 

Note: While the place is among the most visited spots, it is advisable to take a guide along because of the presence of wild animals.
