How To Reach Pondicherry
Pondicherry is very well connected to the rest of the country.
By Flight: Puducherry Airport or Pondicherry Airport is about 5 km away from its city centre. This airport, however, has limited connectivity. It largely operates flights to and from Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Hence, it would be better to fly down to the Chennai International Airport, and then take a bus or cab to reach Pondicherry. It takes around 3-4 hours to reach Pondicherry by road from Chennai.
By Train: Puducherry Railway Station (PDY) operates daily trains to Chennai. It also has trains to other major Indian cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Mangalore.
By Road: Several state and private buses ply at frequent intervals from most South Indian cities including Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, and Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry.
