About Kutch Tourism

Kutch is an erstwhile princely state of India that resembles the shape of a tortoise. Tourism in Kutch is renowned especially for its vast expanses of the white salt desert, rich cultural heritage and festive charm. Kutch especially comes alive during the Rann Utsav, a cultural carnival that attracts and enchants people from near and far.

Kutch tourism in India boasts of pristine seashores, diverse wildlife, sparkling white land and a vibrant culture that is quite likely to leave you mesmerised. Kutch is not like most other deserts with sandy landscapes. It is unique in a myriad of ways. While the great salt flats lie in the northern Kutch, its southern region is blessed with agricultural greenery and seasonal rivers. Watching the contrasting orange hue of the sunset over the plain white salt-flat landscape at Kutch would particularly be a memorable experience. As it is a desert, the Kutch sky usually stays cloud-free, and therefore, is perfect for enjoying sunset views.

Booking a Kutch tourism package from Veena World would be among the simplest ways to plan a trip to this remarkable destination. With us, you may even get to visit Kutch during the famous Rann Festival and enjoy the best of Gujarat’s culture, food, art, and music.

Experience The Best Of Kutch

If you are planning a trip to Kutch, here are a few must-visit destinations that you should add to your itinerary

Aina Mahal

Aina Mahal is an 18th-century palace that tends to be a part of most Kutch tourism packages owing to its beauty. This palace presents one of the finest examples of Indo-Saracenic architecture in India, and has extraordinary mirrored interiors. Aina Mahal is spread over two floors, comprising of a hall of mirrors, the Darbar hall, and suites that belonged to the members of the royal family. Aina Mahal Museum is a part of the structure, and exhibits a variety of royal possessions, paintings and photographs, along with samples of fine Kutch embroidery.

Prag Mahal

Located next to the Aina Mahal, this is a 19th-century structure that symbolizes the rich history and cultural tapestry of Bhuj.  It is a popular part of Kutch tourism, and features a tall clock tower from where you can enjoy panoramic views of Bhuj. Prag Mahal is made mostly out of red sandstone, with Gothic-style windows and Corinthian pillars.  You can find intricate carvings on the walls of the palace, and stunning jaali work on the jharokhas. A number of Bollywood blockbusters, like Lagaan and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, have been shot at Prag Mahal. A part of the palace has been converted into a museum where personal items of the royal family are displayed.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

This temple marks the spot where Swaminarayan sat with local holy men when he came to Bhuj. You can find bright woodcarvings around the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir that mostly depict Lord Krishna and Radha. Its stunning architecture and intricate carvings make it an important part of Kutch tour packages. You may get to view an interesting 3D movie at the temple which showcases the inspiring story of Lord Shri Swaminarayan.

Mandvi Beach

Lying on the southernmost edge of Kutch, the sandy stretch of Mandvi Beach extends to the port of Rajiwanda. Its soft white sand, azure waters and serene environment make it a widely favourite aspect of Rann of Kutch tourism. Mandvi Beach is an ideal spot for family outings and relaxation.

Vijay Vilas Palace

Vijay Vilas Palace is built of red sandstone and is the regal abode of the royal family of Kutch. It is an excellent example of the Rajput style of architecture and lies just a few miles away from Mandvi Beach. At the Vijay Vilas Palace, you will find umbrella domes like the ones seen in palaces of Bengal, Mughal-style cupolas, as well as jarokhas and cusp arches similar to Rajput palaces.
