Best Time to Visit Kaza

The peak time for tourism in Kazais is the summer, from June to September. The temperature here during this time is generally between 15°C and 25°C, and therefore comfortable enough for sightseeing. Key Gompa:

This Tibetan Buddhist monastery lies at an altitude of 4,166 m above sea level, on a picturesque hilltop. It is among the biggest and oldest monasteries in the region, and provides marvellous views of the valley below. However, it is not just the views of the monastery that make it an important part of Kaza tourism packages. The spiritual energy and rich history of the monastery also attract many. More than three lamas receive their religious education at the Key Gompa, and can be seen singing, dancing and playing with their pipes and horns on its premises. The walls of this monastery are decorated with beautiful murals, paintings, thangkas and stucco images.

Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary:

Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary features a large expanse of lush, fertile terrain along the banks and is home to unique and rare wildlife. It is a major highlight of Kaza tourism in Himachal due to the surplus of flora and fauna found at the park. There are several thousand varieties of trees and plants across the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, including Rosa sericea, Hipopheae and Lonicera. Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary is especially renowned for its medicinal plants. Kibber Monastery:

Chicham Bridge:

When it comes to Kaza city tourism, you cannot miss out on the Chicham Bridge. In many ways, it is an engineering marvel, and a testimony to human creativity. Perched at an altitude of around 4,000 meters above sea level, Chicham Bridge is known to be among the highest suspension bridges on the planet. This bridge connects the villages of Kibber and Chicham, and spans a 500-feet deep gorge. It provides striking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Chicham Bridge is stunningly complemented by the backdrop of snow-clad peaks and the Spiti River flowing in the gorge.

Langza Buddha Statue:

Langza Village is among the most scenic locales in Spiti Valley. As you approach this village, you will be able to spot a monumental Buddha statue from afar. Positioned at the top of the hill, this is the highest establishment of the village and is considered to be about a thousand years old. Langza Buddha Statue stands at a height of 20 feet and is known to be a majestic symbol of peace. It is believed to protect the village from the harsh climate.

How To Reach Kaza

Even though Kaza does not have an airport or railway station, this tourist destination is well-connected to the major cities of Himachal by road. There are multiple ways to reach Kaza.

Air: The nearest airport to Kaza is Bhuntar Airport, Kullu Manali. You can get taxis and buses from Manali to reach Kaza.

Rail: Kaza does not have direct rail connectivity. The nearest railway station to the town is in Joginder Nagar, at a distance of about 365 km. There are regular bus services available between Kaza and Joginder Nagar. You may even hire a cab from Joginder Nagar to reach Kaza.

Road: Kaza is connected to key parts of Himachal by roadways.  Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) operates regular buses from Kullu to Kaza via Manali.
